JIM EVANS's Obituary
PERRY –
James Franklin “Jim” Evans, 66, passed away suddenly unexpectedly on Friday, May 28, 2021. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home with the Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the Funeral starting at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Jim was born in West Virginia and grew up in northern Virginia where he grew up and graduated from high school. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, and retired after twenty-five years. After his military service, he accepted a position with the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronics technician and was still working there. Jim was an amazing, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed working in the yard, boating on the lake, shooting pool, and traveling with his family. His greatest passion in life, though, was his family. He loved to spend time with them, whether it was sitting on the porch, practicing softball, or playing video games with his youngest son. They were his greatest joy.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jim are his loving and devoted wife of sixteen years, Suzanne Walthall Evans of Perry; his children, Alexis Evans of Rome, GA, Jeremy Evans (Christina) of Nashville, TN, Laci Baker (Blake Spann) of Kathleen, Aaron Miles of Montezuma, and Lucas Evans of Perry; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brother, Kenny Evans (Sheila) of Clemmons, NC; his sister, Debbie Evans of FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Henry G. and Patsy Maynor Evans.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
