Jerry Lawrence Thompson's Obituary
Hawkinsville, GeorgiaJerry Lawrence Thompson, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018. No services will be held at this time. Jerry was born in Perry, Georgia on May 13, 1949, to the late Benjamin Randolph and Laura Frances Cheek Thompson. He graduated from Perry High School and joined the United States Army not long after. Jerry was very proud of his service to our country, especially his time in Vietnam. He would stop and share stories with any person wearing a hat or shirt that represented being a war veteran. Jerry spent many years in civil service working in sheet metal at Robins Air Force Base. He had a passion for guns, music that he grew up listening to, old westerns starring John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, and he was a collector of antiques. Jerry loved good food and was especially fond of his cats. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Laverne Thompson Brown and Dennis Thompson. Left to cherish the memories they shared with Jerry are his wife of forty-nine years, Martha Frances McLendon Thompson; his daughter, Tiffany Thompson, his son, Jeremy R. Thompson (Victoria); a granddaughter, Tara Amber Thompson; and his siblings, Benjamin Thompson (Janet), Charles Thompson (Janice), Dolly Thompson Frick (Harry), and Martha Thompson Roberson (Donald). Condolences may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
