JEANNE PIERCE BLEDSOE's Obituary
STOCKBRIDGE -
Jeanne Claire Pierce Bledsoe, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021, after an extended illness. A private Funeral Service will be held for the family on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Perry United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Postell and Rev. Lathem Postell officiating. Following the funeral, a Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery. Anyone who would like is welcome to attend the Graveside Service. However, considering the current national pandemic, please wear a mask and observe social distancing when possible for the safety of everyone there. Memorial contributions may be made to Perry United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 73, Perry, GA 31069 or Southern Grace Hospice, 80 Candler Road, McDonough, GA 30253.
Jeanne was born in Perry, Georgia, to the late Carlton Crawford Pierce, Sr. and the late Julia Baird Pierce. She was a native of Perry, and was a lifelong member of Perry United Methodist Church, where she loved to serve and worship. She was a member of the IHS Sunday School Class. Jeanne was a graduate of Perry High School and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Georgia State College for Women. She was a teacher in the Houston County School System and The Westfield School for a total of forty-three years. She had lived in Stockbridge for the last few years to be near her daughter and family.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jeanne are her son, William Franklin “Bill” Bledsoe of Hawkinsville; her daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Andy Postell of McDonough; her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Jee-Jee,” Wade Bledsoe, Josh Bledsoe (Monica), Rev. Lathem Postell (Kami), and Lydia Postell. Jeanne had the honor of being the aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Carlton Crawford “Bubber” Pierce, Jr.; and her loving and devoted husband of over sixty years, William Franklin “Billy” Bledsoe.
