Jay Thorne Mihelarakis, 42, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2024. A memorial service will be held at Perry Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Jay was born on March 2, 1982, to Daniel and JoAnn Mihelarakis in Newark, Ohio. He spent his childhood with his parents and older brother in Heath, Ohio. Jay was 14 when the family moved to Warner Robins. He enjoyed swimming, biking, and playing video games. He is a 2000 graduate of Houston County High School and a 2011 honor graduate of Central Georgia Technical College.
Jay was an Electronic Technician at Robins Air Force Base for over a decade. He enjoyed the challenge of repairing electronic equipment. Jay was an avid reader with a library of over 400 books. He enjoyed playing his piano, writing stories, and his latest interest of abstract painting. He built his own computers and primarily used them for research and day trading. Jay was a kind, gentle, and caring person.
Jay is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Dorothy Mihelarakis, Earl and Freda Pannebaker, Gary and Gladys Rhodes; and his uncle, Mark Heffner.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jay are his parents; older brother, Casey Mihelarakis (Angela); nieces, Milani and Ellie Grace; nephew, Gionni, all of Angola, IN; niece, Erica Mihelarakis of Inman, SC; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
