JANET WILLIAMS RACKLEY's Obituary
APOPKA, FL –
Janet Williams Rackley, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022, after an extended illness with family at her side. At her request, all services are private. Janet will be laid to rest in Perry Memorial Gardens in Perry, Georgia, beside her late husband, Jerry Huff.
Janet was born in Macon, Georgia, on June 30, 1950. She grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1968. She attended West Georgia College and Macon Junior College, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Florida in 1979. For several years, she traveled the world as a flight attendant with National Airlines based in Miami, Florida. Janet was the Firm Administrator for a small Orlando Law Firm for 18 years. She also served as the Executive Director of Community Associations Institute Florida Legislative Alliance for almost 20 years. She enjoyed the tedious work as one of the curators at the Florida State Museum in Gainesville, Florida. As a long-time resident of Florida, Janet loved to cheer for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and she was an avid Florida Gators fan. She loved gardening and being in her backyard and took great pride in her plants. She also loved her Jack Russell Terrier, JoJo.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Williams Rackley.
Survivors include her father, Harvey Rackley; her brother, Ron Rackley (Lynn); her nieces and nephews, Claire Stripling (Jason), Wayne Rackley, Josh Rackley (Jessie), and Katherine Gray (Garrett); great nieces Aubrey and Edie and many cousins.
