JAMES MILTON STEVENSON JR's Obituary
PERRY-
James M. Stevenson JR, (Jim) 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. A Private Entombment will take place in the Dogwood Mausoleum in Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Hospital or Friends of Perry Animal Shelter, 204 Kellwood Dr, Perry, GA 31069.
Mr. Stevenson was born in Denver, Colorado and married the love of his life, Barbara Stevenson. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force, Barbara proudly stood by his side with complete love and support as a military wife. He retired after 30 years from the Airforce as a Chief Master Sargent. During his career, he lived in many places which included Japan, England, Germany, and all over the United States. They were stationed at Robins Air Force Base twice during his career and loved Middle Georgia so much that Jim and Barbara made their home in Perry after retirement.
Jim loved going to car shows and restoring classic cars in his garage after retirement. He also enjoyed taking people to tour the Air Force base and sharing meals and laughter with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Stevenson Sr. and Ruth Winbigler Stevenson; his wife, Barbara Stevenson; his brother, Robert Fulton Sr.; his sister, Sue Stevenson; his daughters, Lisa Pankau and Alicia Washabaugh. Grandson Daniel Armer Jr.
Left to cherish the memories of James are, his sister Sharon (Rick) Deblasis; niece and great nephew Heather and Tyler Barile; Grand daughter Samantha (Paul) Washabaugh/Blair; Great grandsons Greyson and Journie Blair; sister-in law Rebecca (Robert), and nephew Bob Fulton Jr.; Grandson James Roy Armer Sr. His constant companion, his dog, Bubba, along with many great friends.
