JAMES STANLEY "JIM" MILLER's Obituary
PERRY-
James Stanley “Jim” Miller, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022. Services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Cross Point Baptist Church with the Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and the Funeral with Pastor Michael Stovall officiating will begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to Perry Volunteer Outreach, 801 Commerce Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Jim was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late William A. and Martha Carlheim Miller. He spent his life working diligently to support his family. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Theology at Trinity College in Clearwater, Florida. After college, he worked at Continental Can in Tampa, Florida. In 1980 he was transferred to the Perry, Georgia, facility. After his time at Continental Can, he worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a woodworker making a variety of products including gazebos that are placed around the base and flag cases given to each retiree. After retiring from Robins Air Force Base, Jim helped build Grace Village as the Supervising Contractor and Head of Maintenance of the facility. Jim was an active member of Cross Point Baptist Church and the Joyful Seniors Sunday School Class.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jim are his loving wife of sixty-one years, Sara Rogers Miller; his son, David Miller (Reneigh) of Perry; his daughter, Nancy Grieb (Mark) of Hiram; his sisters, Janie Brock of Tampa, Florida and Joana Jacks (Cleb) of Jasper, Florida; his grandchildren, Anna Grieb, Andrew Grieb, Amy Butler (Aric), Alison Grieb, and Ali Purdy (Will); his great-grandchildren, Dean and Anna Purdy; and several nieces and nephews.
