JAMES EARLY "JIM" SESSOMS's Obituary
PERRY –
James Early “Jim” Sessoms, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2022. Services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Perry. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jamie Powell officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Jim was born in Windsor, North Carolina, to the late Robert “Jack” and Hazel Johnson Sessoms. He graduated from Ahoskie High School in Ahoskie, North Carolina. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Air Force. Jim worked his career as an Industrial Millwright and was employed with Firestone in Albany and CEGELEC in Macon. Jim was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry and the Barnabas Sunday School Class. His most treasured things were not things at all, but the time spent with his family. Jim loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, and when the great-grandchildren arrived, he was delighted for the Sessoms family to continue to grow. He was a wonderful husband and father who would do anything any of his family asked him to do. Helping others was important to Jim, especially in times when his health wasn’t the best. Jim was a special brother-in-law, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Winifred Sessoms Harrell.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jim are his loving and devoted wife of thirty-four years, Sandra Sessoms of Perry; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Ernest Hill of Sylvester; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sandy Sessoms of Ariton, Alabama; his bonus children, Dave King (Kathy) of Calhoun and Kellye King of Baconton; his grandchildren, Joshua Hill, Justin Hill (Christina), Haleigh Sessoms, Hayden Sessoms, and Mallory King; several great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Edward Harrell; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
