James "Jim" Richard Romano's Obituary
James (Jim) Romano passed away on November 21, 2016 at the age of 84. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family, church community, country, and the mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Jim was a veteran of the US Army and served 30 years in the Alabama National Guard/Reserves. He was a Master Electrician/Electrical Contractor and led the Apprenticeship Program for the IBEW and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. Jim was married to Patsy Coale Romano (deceased) for 65 years and together they raised 6 children: Mary (Tom Ferris) Romano, James R. Romano Jr., John R. (Teresa) Romano, Victor H. Romano, Katherine L. Williamson and Patrick L. (Lisa) Romano. Jim was very proud of his 7 grandchildren: Adam James, Aubrie, Victoria, Alexander, Nicholas, Jacob and Jeremy and reminded them often that “Gramps Loves You.” A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthews Catholic Church on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 12 Noon with visitation starting at 11 AM until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the Alzheimer’s Association be considered in honor of his wife, Patsy.
