Jim was born on August 12, 1939, in Charleston, South Carolina. A devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many, Jim spent his life in the construction business as a general contractor and a skilled mason. He had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
Later in life, he spent most days in his garage with a fire crackling in his old wood stove. Jim had a deep passion for restoring vintage John Deere tractors and spent countless hours patiently bringing old iron back to life. His garage was his sanctuary, and he shared it with a steady stream of friends and neighbors who stopped by daily. He had a gift for bringing people together, and his shop was a haven for laughter and storytelling.
Jim was “Pops" to his grandsons, Evan and Noah. He handed down a passion for sports, namely baseball, and took great pride in all of their activities. Every phone call or visit was greeted with, “How are my guys?”. Throughout his 86 years, Jim was a man who genuinely loved life, approaching every day with a positive attitude and a warm smile. He never met a stranger and always made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He leaves behind a legacy defined by kindness and love.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James S. Price Sr. and Ruth Price; and sister, Evelyn Ruth Stewart.
He is survived by his son, James Price III, and wife, Wendy; his grandsons, Evan Price and Noah Price; his siblings, Henry Price (Flora) and Linda Roan (Doug); as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at https://www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements in Georgia.
