A Service to Celebrate his Life will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry. Interment will be private. The family will visit with friends on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Cross Point Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions for his children, Osborne Children's College Funds, c/o Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 52, Perry, GA 31069. Kevin was born in Albany on January 26, 1970. He grew up a "preacher's kid" and graduated from Lamar County Comprehensive High School with the Class of 1988. He proudly served our country in the Army Reserves. He was the Collateral Sales Specialist at Robins Financial Credit Union. Kevin was a simple man with an elaborate life. He loved being outdoors and going on adventures. When his family was with him, he would always respond, "Mile, mile-and-a-half," when asked how much further. His wife, Shelly, was the love of his life, and his children were his pride and joy. A particularly proud moment was the day all 3 of his children were baptized at church. He was a member of Cross Point Baptist Church, and his other church was the wilderness where he felt closest to God. Kevin was a man of few words, but what he said was powerful and full of meaningful. Kevin was a true believer in the power of prayer from a young age and instilled that belief in his children. He always wanted to reach out and share the word of Jesus with anyone willing to listen. Kevin had recently purchased a Kawasaki Concourse and joined the Concourse Group, which he was enjoying a great deal. When he got his motorcycle license in October 2016, he was the only one in his class who "aced" the written test and the road test, which delighted him to the fullest. This knowledge leads us to know that on Tuesday night, December 27, 2016, Kevin was truly "headed home." He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend James Gilbert "Buddy" Osborne.Left to cherish the memories of Kevin are his loving and devoted wife of 11 years, Shelly Williamson Osborne; his children, Jameson Osborne of Columbus, Nolan Osborne and Jeanna Kate Osborne, both of Elko; his mother, Dorothy Osborne of Ft. Valley; his siblings, Keith Osborne (Susanne), Kaye Coursey, both of Ft. Valley, Kent Osborne (Gina) of Columbus, and Kelly Barnes (Tracey) of Leesburg; Jameson's mother, Melonie Mann; and a host of nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
