Jim was born in Lagoda, Indiana, to the late Lynn August and Alice Stebbins Pitzer. A member of Perry High School's Class of 1962, he proudly served our country in the U. S. Army Reserves. He was a building contractor most of his life, having been self-employed for many years and retiring from Northrop-Grummon/Voight. Jim, a true southern cowboy, took his last ride upon his mechanical horse - his beloved Harley Davidson. He departed this world with the sun upon his face and the wind at his back. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Pitzer and Grubby Pitzer.
He left behind to mourn his passing his loving wife of 18 years, Claudine Pitzer; his sons and their wives, Jimmy and Tammy Pitzer, and Stoney and Raeanna Pitzer; four beautiful granddaughters, Carol Ann, Anna Leigh, Campbell, and Carson, who lovingly referred to him as "Granddaddy"; his sisters, Barbara Tyson (Willie) and Laura Long (Loree); his brother, Floyd Pitzer; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal fur babies, Max, Pepper, and Alvie.
Condolences may be left for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
