James L. 'Jim' Ervin's Obituary
James "Jim" Ervin, 70, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at the Carl Vinson VA Center in Dublin. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in East Dublin (Soperton Highway). The family suggests contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Born in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma,and the son of the late Frank and Lucille Colley Ervin, Mr. Ervin had lived in Perry for only 19 months moving from East Dublin. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, he ws a retired engineer with PP&E Company in Charleston, S.C. He was also a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in East Dublin. Mr. Ervin love to travel in his RV.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Merritt Ervin, of Perry; sons James K. Ervin (Roberta) of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Christopher Ervin (Stacie) of Elgin, South Carolina; step-sons, Jim Merritt of Dublin and Jeff Merritt of Perry; siblings, Karon Craig of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Bob Ervin of Wyoming; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
