James William "Jack" Rice's Obituary
James William “Jack” Rice, age 87, a lifelong resident of Coden passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014. He began working in the Seafood Industry and was owner and operator of Rice Seafood until 1979 when he founded Master Boat Builders along with his sons. He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Rice. He is survived by his wife, Leila Rice, children, John William (Kanda) Rice, Richard Allen (Debra) Rice, James Michael (Debbie) Rice, Vicki Rene Rice, David Earl (Julie) Rice, many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at Higher Ground Baptist Church on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10 am. Interment will be in Oddfellow Cemetery.
