James Wesley Emanuel's Obituary
James Wesley Emanuel, age 56, born July 10, 1958 exchanged time for eternity on December 5, 2014. He was the son of James"Shorty" Emanuel & Mary Agnes Emanuel and a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. He was a 1976 graduate of Murphy High School. Wesley was a person who never met a stranger and loved to talk. There was rarely a place he went where he didn't know someone. He loved his family & friends, especially his boys; he loved talking about them and all of their accomplishments. Wesley had a big heart and was always willing to give and to help others. Wesley was an outstanding baseball pitcher during his childhood, that continued on to Murphy High to his college years at Bishop State Community College, UAB and Springhill College. Wesley set, broke and still holds many records during his entire pitching career. His gift of pitching was truly amazing to many people. He loved the game of baseball and he shared that love with his sons and nephews.As well as his love for baseball he loved Alabama Football. Wesley wore many hats through out his life; he served on the MAWSS Board for eight years, Mims Park Football & Cheer-leading park President for six years.Wesley was proceeded in death by his mother Mary Agnes Emanuel. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons James "JW" Emanuel, Joesph "Doc" Emanuel, father James "Shorty" Emanuel, brother Gerald Wayne (Bobbie) Emanuel, sister Cindy Lynn Emanuel, special loved one Tina Ward Emanuel, niece Tristy (Vincent) Robinson, nephew Paul Emanuel, two great nieces Destiny & D'Aliyah, great nephew Devin, devoted cousin Linda Robinson all of Mobile and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Thank you Wayne, Bobbie and Shorty for the love, care and concern for Wesley in his final days. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 10 am until 11 am. Graveside service will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens at 11 am.
