James Wallace Dean's Obituary
James Wallace Dean, Sr., 77, of Perry passed peacefully from this life on Friday, April 20, 2018. The family will visit with friends on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Heights Baptist Church with interment to follow at Perry Memorial Gardens. Wallace was born in Worth County on June 14, 1940. He was the son of the late John P. and Kathleen Jones Dean. In 1958, his family relocated to Perry. Not long after that, he met Bobbie Jean Wilson, and they spent nearly 59 years of their lives together. Wallace was known to be exceptional in brick masonry where he created beautiful brick work, and he also used his hands as a talented builder. After leaving the masonry business, he spent most of his time gardening, fishing, or tending to the neighborhood cats. Wallace was a dedicated member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and proudly served as a Deacon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roland Dean and Steve Dean; and a great-grandson, Brenden Smith. Left to remember his love and devotion are his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Dean; his daughter, Linda Davis; his sons, Wally Dean (Debbie) and Jerry Dean; his sisters, Gloria Hughes, Ernestine Hurley (Chuck), and Erlene Thornton; brothers, Malcolm Dean, William Dean (Betty), Charlie Dean, and Earl Dean (Pam); grandchildren, Josh Dean (Tara), Amy Hill (Eric), Ken Thaxton, and Justin Gordon (LaShay), Rebecca Singleton (Trey), Jonathan Gordon, Dakota Davis; great-grandchildren, Abby Dean, Emily Dean, Kalie Smith, Landan Smith, Alexa Hill, Gracelyn Gordon, Trace Hill, and Clint Singleton; a host of nieces and nephews; and his church family.
