JAMES HASKELL CRAWFORD JR.'s Obituary
PERRY –
James Haskell Crawford, Jr., 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 12 Noon until 3:00 p.m. in the Fairway Ridge Clubhouse in Houston Springs, 375 Pebble Beach Drive, in Perry. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Traditions Health Hospice (formerly Homestead), 500 Osigian Blvd., Suite 300, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Jim was born in South Carolina to the late James H. and Mildred Sheriff Crawford. After high school graduation, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from University of Tennessee. He met and married the love of his life, Carrie Carr, and they raised their family in Marietta, Georgia. Their daughters played soccer from a young age, and Jim loved the game of soccer. From volunteering to coach, to cheering from the sidelines, to following along play-by-play as a referee at the largest soccer club in Marietta, he was always involved. For over twenty-five years, Jim was a Recruiter for Doctors and placed physicians to work in hospitals. After retiring from the medical field, he enjoyed his job as a bus driver for the Cobb County School System. In 2018, Jim and Carrie moved to Perry, Georgia, to be near their family. He enjoyed truly being retired in their chosen community, Houston Springs.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jim are his devoted and caring wife of nearly thirty-four years, Carrie Crawford of Perry; his children, Ryan Crawford (Jamie) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Shannon Reber (Seth) of Kathleen, and Kelly Crawford-Brown (Mitch) of Elko; his grandchildren, R.J. Crawford, Hudson Reber, Sawyer Reber, and Callan Reber; and his brother, Doug Crawford (Julie) of Williamston, South Carolina.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
