JACQUELINE "JACKIE" BAILEY's Obituary
MARSHALLVILLE –
Jacqueline “Jackie” Fletcher Bailey, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Jackie was born in Schley County to the late Mildred (Farr) and Albert Fletcher. She met and married the love of her life, Cecil Wade Bailey, and the couple moved to Perry, where she lived most of her life. Jackie spent her career in Food Service Management at the Church Home for the Aged, now known as Life Spring Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She retired as their Director of Food Management. Jackie enjoyed working for many years with Cox Catering at the annual Georgia National Fair held in Perry each year. Her servant’s heart and desire to care for others was evident as she treasured each opportunity to nurture others through sickness. Jackie was a long-time member of Tharpe Memorial Baptist Church and was instrumental as a founding member of Cross Point Baptist Church, now Cross Point Perry. She loved her church home and her church family and attended every chance she could, until her health no longer allowed her to be there.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Cecil W. Bailey; an infant daughter, Miriam Bailey; her children, Dan Bailey, Patsy Brown, and Ted Bailey; and her sisters, Virginia Fletcher and Ethel Trisch.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Jackie are her sister, Gwendolyn Bailey of Ellaville; 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including Darrell Bailey (Jane) of Americus, and Paula Roberson (Jamie) of Tifton; and many great-nieces and great-nephews, including Alex Bailey of Americus.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at https://www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry has been entrusted with the arrangements.
