IDA P. WOODARD's Obituary
HAYNESVILLE –
Ida Pauline Scarborough Woodard, 86, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville, and will be followed by a Graveside Service in the cemetery at First Baptist Church of Haynesville beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. David Fisher officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Haynesville, 2953 US Highway 341, Hawkinsville, GA 31036.
Ida was born in Hawkinsville on March 10, 1937, to the late Ernest and Laura Scarborough. She met and married the love of her life, Marty Woodard, and she moved to Houston County in 1959. A homemaker all of her life, she worked diligently to create a loving and encouraging environment in which to raise their only child. Mrs. Ida enjoyed cooking and making silk flower arrangements. She had somewhat of a creative flair about her and spent time doing arts and crafts, which she loved. She was member of Riverside Baptist Church, where she attended as a young child, in Hawkinsville.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Lamar “Marty” Woodard; her sisters, Inez Yansom, Amanda “Odene” Collins, and Ernestine Burkett; and her brother, Benjamin Scarborough.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mrs. Ida are her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Matt Hunt of Haynesville; her grandson, Michael Bramlett, and his fiancée, Jhovaan, of Savannah; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
