Horace Wilson Gray's Obituary
Horace Wilson Gray, a resident of Mobile, AL and a native of Greene County, MS died peacefully at his home on Monday, February 10, 2014. Mr. Gray was a proud WWII Veteran and a 2 time purple heart recipient. After the war he was Honorably discharged from the Army and began a career at the Alabama Dry Dock. He retired after 32 years. He had the privilege of attending the WWII Honor Flight trip to Washington DC on September 19, 2012. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda Gray, grandson, Johnny Gray Jr., great great grandson, Aiden Gray. He is survived by his children, James (Mary) Gray, Johnny Gray Sr., Leonard Gray, 3 grandsons, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2 pm with visitation starting 12 noon until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
