Mr. Griner was born in Willacoochee, Georgia, to the late Ralph M. and Louise Spikes Griner. He has lived in Perry for over forty-four years and was a longtime, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville, where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class, whom he loved dearly. Mr. Griner was a Maintenance Supervisor at Tolleson Lumber Company, and he retired with over thirty-four years of service. Herman enjoyed fishing and listening to Southern gospel music. Spending time with his family was his favorite thing to do, especially to celebrate birthdays, and gather for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas each year.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Herman are his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Linda Morgan Griner; his children, Loletia Fowler (Mike) of Haynesville, Kevin Griner (Carolyn) of Perry, and Keith Griner (April) of Perry; his grandchildren, Mitchell Fowler (Rachel), Ryan Fowler (Haley), Chase Griner, Bryson Griner, and Justin Borders; one great-grandson, Cal Fowler; his great-granddaughter, Hazel Kate Fowler and Livi Borders; and his brother, Raymond Griner (Maxine) of Nashville, Georgia.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
