Herman Blackmon Sr.'s Obituary
Age 86, born June 15, 1930 departed this life for eternity on October 20, 2016 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born to the late Mack Blackmon and Lois Blackmon in Bolling, Alabama. The family later moved to Mobile, Alabama where he attended The Josephine Allen Institute. He then joined the U.S. Army for two terms, where he became a Staff Sergeant. Upon returning to Mobile, he was employed with Courtaulds, N.A, for 35 years until his retirement. After retirement he became a faithful member of the Toulminville Warren Street United Methodist Church where he served on the Usher Board and was a member of the Good Samaritans. He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife of 61 years, Beulah Mae Morrissette Blackmon, two sons, Herman (Sherry) Blackmon Jr. and Wade (Michelle) Blackmon, two daughters, Angela Blackmon and Grindle (Nathan) Holder, all of Mobile, Alabama, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held at Toulminville Warren Street United Methodist Church (2271 St. Stephens Rd.) on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11am with visitation from 9am until service time. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
