Herbert Hartman's Obituary
Herbert "Cowboy"Willie Hartman, age 87, a resident of Theodore, AL passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at his home. He was born November 19, 1927 in LaFourche Parish, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Hartman and Ida Dufrene Hartman Tyler, his four brothers, Herman, Alance, Clarence and Raymond Hartman, two sisters Leverta Murray and Millie Samson, daughter Thelma Biggs, grand-daughter Alicia Hartman and step-son Christopher Brockman. He is survived by his wife, Alberta "Bertie" Nehrt Hartman, sister Yvonne (John) Ewald, daughter Joann Gomez, sons, Don (Darlene) Hartman Herbert (Nina) Hartman II of New Orleans, LA, Steven (Deb) Hartman of Newnan, GA and John(Susan) Hartman of McDonough, GA. Step-daughter Kristin(David) Nelson of Irvington, AL, and Step-son Jim Pendleton of Santa Rosa, FL. 13 Grandchildren, Don Hartman II, Dee Dee Kirkfield, Dana Duhon, Bruce Treadaway, Herbert Hartman III, Justin Hartman, Megan Hartman, Hillary Nelson, Rileigh Nelson, Tyler Pendleton, Nick Pendleton, Zach Pendleton, and Mia Pendleton. 13 Great Grandchildren, Don Hartman III,Clay Hartman, Daniel DeHarde, Alan Kirkfield III, Jaylynn Kirkfield, Breann Duhon, Claire Duhon, Harlyn Duhon, Ty Treadaway, Gavin Treadaway, Madison Hartman, Vance Hartman, and Brodee Hartman. Marybeth Mizell and Debbie Hartman who also had a very special place in his heart, Nieces and Nephews, In-laws, and many friends.Mr. Hartman was a over the road truck driver and also served as a police man in Louisiana and Georgia. He was a Mason with the Riverdale Lodge #709 F&AM of Riverdale,GA. He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and a member of the Abba Shrine of Mobile, AL. He led "Crews for St. Jude's Ride" for 13 years. Mr. Hartman lived a full and active life. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 12 noon until 2 pm. Graveside service will be held in Serenity Memorial Gardens Sunday at 2 pm.
