Henry Abrams' Obituary
Henry Abrams, 85, passed away in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, November 8, 2012, after a brief illness. A Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Church with Reverend Roland Fall and Reverend Jenny Jackson-Adams officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be on Friday, November 9, 2012, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mr. Abrams was born in Marshallville to the late Van and Janie Horton Abrams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Abrams lived in Houston County most of his life and worked at Medusa Cement Company where he was a machinist for 42 years. He was a long-time member of Perry United Methodist Church and a member of the IHS Sunday School Class. Mr. Abrams loved to travel, especially with the Prime Time Sr. Group at church. A former member of the Perry Civitan Club, he was a member of the American Legion. He loved his family, and his greatest joy was when they were all together. Mr. Abrams enjoyed hearing the stories about his precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Jimmy Abrams, Horton Abrams, and Kenneth Abrams.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories of "Granddaddy" are his loving wife of 63 years, Audrey Meadows Abrams of Perry; his daughters, Beverly Birdsong (John) of Perry, and Debbie Scott (Johnny) of Elko; his sister, Sara Pottenger of Perry; his grandchildren, Lance Bryant (Hannah), Kelly Sexton (Will), Keith Pace (Jennifer), and Christie Pace; his great-grandchildren, Laura Kate Pace, Julianna Pace, Liam Sexton, and Conner Henry Sexton; and several nieces and nephews.
