Life Legacy
CORDELE -Helen Louise Brinson Sanderson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 9, 2016, 20 days before her 93rd birthday. Her faith in God, and His kindness and mercy sustained her all of her life, and she inspired many through her music and Bible studies over many decades. Born September 29, 1923, the first child of Bessie Daniels and Seavy W. Brinson of Wilmington, North Carolina, Mrs. Sanderson grew up loving the ocean, and the beauty of Live Oaks and Spanish moss. Known in her youth as a star student, she became Valedictorian of her class at New Hanover High School. She also played piano and organ for church services since she was 14. She married Bill F. Sheets, and they had 2 children, William F. "Bill" and Mary Beth. Mrs. Sanderson became a national figure in the DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution, speaking in period costume about the National Treasures of Great Women of America. Her husband, Bill Sheets, and her 2 younger siblings, Martha Saler and S.W. Brinson, preceded her in death. Widowed a short while, she married James W. Sanderson, her dear childhood friend, who also preceded her in death.
