Helen G. King, 91, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Monday, June 5, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Perry Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tommy Perkins officiating. The family suggests contributions to Abba House, or Perry Volunteer Outreach. Helen was born in Seneca, S.C. and was the daughter of the late Frank Myron Gibson, Sr., and Beulah Juanita Graham Gibson.
Living as a resident @ Andrews Terrace at Summerhill Senior Living, she was a homemaker and had also worked in Pre-K education. A member of the Perry United Methodist, she was an avid reader, played bingo, watched the Atlanta Braves, loved caring for flowers and plants. A special love was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana” and “GrandNana”.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Wanda K. Davis (Bill) of Perry; daughter-in-law, Vickie King; four grandchildren, Bristol Shelton Williams (Jerrell), Nova Davis Allen (Todd), Chip Davis (Audrey), and Leslie Davis Arnette; fourteen great-grandchildren, Grant Shelton (Caitlin), Carter Shelton (Margaret), Levi Shelton, Linden Shelton, Chloe Shelton, Gentry Arnette, Harrington Arnette, Jack Davis Arnette, Caden Arnette, Savannah Arnette, Ivy and Davis Allen, William and Merritt Davis; Her siblings, Myron and Doris Gibson, Cecil and Phyllis Gibson, Martha Gibson Duncan; brother-in-law, Clark Oliver; sisters-in-laws, Dorothy Williams and Zoic King Ledford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Mell King and James B. King; a son, Michael M. King; sister, Laura Gibson Oliver.
