Hardy and Gerry were my second set of parents after their family moved to Perry when I was a teenager. His son Gary and I were best buddies, and got into lots of mischief that he did not approve of. But he loved us anyway. After I grew up, he became a mentor to me after my parents had died and he loved my family like his own. Although not a large man, he was a giant of the faith. His life was a true example of Christianity to everyone he met. I will always remember him.
