Gypsy Lee Keffer's Obituary
Gypsy Lee Pierce Keffer passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 26, 2016 in Providence Hospital, Mobile, Alabama. Born December 16, 1936 in Lee Co., Mississippi to Carl Leland Pierce and Ruby May Hall Pierce, Gypsy lived a majority of her childhood in south Alabama. In 1957, she married Thomas Henry Keffer and moved to Terrell, Texas, where she gave birth to her daughter and first son. Shortly thereafter, she and Tom moved to Rosinton, Alabama then later, to Robertsdale, Alabama, where she gave birth to her last two children. After having the four children, she and Tom also lived in Key Largo, FL and Homer, AK. After divorcing her husband in 1983, she returned to her roots in Alabama with a short stay in Pensacola Florida, where she worked at various jobs before moving in with her mother, Ruby, to act as caregiver. Gypsy is remembered for being social, having a quick wit, sharp mind, collecting trinkets, sewing, loving dogs, and cooking the best chocolate & biscuits. She was loved by many and will be missed.Gypsy is survived by her four children, Tracy (Dan), Tom Jr. (Lori), Greg, and Gordon (Norlisa); her grandchildren Dan (Lori), Drew, Damian, Frankie, Sam, Alex and Krystal; and great-grandchildren Melanie, Lucas and Isabel. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm, January 5th, at Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd, Theodore AL
