GLENN BOWER's Obituary
PERRY –
Thomas Glenn Bower, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Perry United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1002 Carroll Street, Perry, GA 31069. Glenn made donations to the PUMC Building Fund to honor his parents, especially his mother who taught Sunday School there.
Glenn was born in Dixie, Georgia, to the late Jack Bower and the late Florrie Burke Bower. He was an outstanding basketball player at Dixie High School. He graduated from DHS in 1951. For over twenty-five years, Glenn was a Parts Manager for several General Motors dealers. An avid golfer, he was a long-time member of Perry Country Club. He was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs and was thrilled with excitement when the teams won the World Series and the National Championship, respectively. His favorite meals came from Wendy’s, and he was thankful for the sweet servers who knew his name each time he went there.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Burke Bower.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Glenn are his daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Bart Reed of Warner Robins; his son, Gary Bower of Monticello; his grandchildren, Stephanie Foley, Robert Reed (Kaitlin), Kristyn McElheney (Brandon), and Taylor Bower; seven great-grandchildren; and one niece.
