Mr. Voss was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late Elbert R. and Lena Mae Parker Voss. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Voss moved with his family to Winter Haven, Florida, where he met and married the love of his life, Jeanette Thomas. He worked in Mechanical Maintenace with Continental Can Company in Florida, and he was transferred to Perry in 1976, where the couple settled. Mr. Voss became a member of First Baptist Church of Perry, where he was also a member of the Avon Buice Sunday School Class. A musician most of his life, he was an accomplished guitarist. He was featured on radio and television in his younger years, and had the opportunity to work with five stars from the Grand Ole Opry. Mr. Voss spent many hours in his "pickin' quarters" at home and truly enjoyed every moment of making music. But his main love in life was being with his devoted and adoring wife, Jeanette. Since his retirement, they have rarely been apart, doing exactly what he wanted to do...love each other.
Left to cherish the memories of Glen are his beloved wife of 52 years, Jeanette Thomas Voss of Perry; one brother, Gene Voss (Ann) of Perry; one niece, Laura Voss of Macon; four nephews, Lynn Voss (Kelly) of Perry, Larry Voss (Shannon) of Dawsonville, David Thomas of Melbourne, Florida, and Drew Thomas (Rita) of Winter Haven, Florida; ten great-nieces and -nephews; and a devoted friend, June Thornton of Winter Haven, Florida.
