Gladys Arvilla Chance's Obituary
Gladys Arvilla Joullian Chance, age 94, was born on January 25, 1920 in Flint, Michigan. A resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at her residence. Gladys was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher at Gospel Lighthouse for over 40 years. She loved Jesus and whenever she got the chance she would share him with whomever she met. Gladys loved to send cards to her family, friends, and her church family for birthdays, anniversaries, illnesses or just out of the blue. She loved to crochet and loved flowers. Gladys had many wonderful friends and always had a smile on her face and a helping hand for anyone who may need it. She never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her husband’s, Phillip Joullian Sr. and Sidney D. Chance Sr., daughter, Cindy L. Joullian. She is survived by her seven sons, Phillip (Brenda) Joullian Jr., Ronald P. Joullian, Donald (Irene) Joullian, Mike R. Joullian, Dennis (Lynn) Chance, Sidney (Lucille) Chance, Tommy (Annette) Chance, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren, 11 step great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Our family would like to extend our grateful thanks to Donna Johnson and Dee Dee Butler for their compassionate care and service. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Wednesday, May14, 2014 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from the chapel at Serenity Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10 am. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
