MR Gerald Coleman Tidmore's Obituary
Gerald Coleman Tidmore, Bayou La Batre native, passed away February 12, 2016 at age 87. He graduated from the University of Alabama with the class of 1949 and moved on to work as a CPA in New Orleans and Birmingham with Haskins and Sells Accounting Firm until 1972. From there, he became the Vice President of Finance at Mobile Paint Manufacturing Company until 1992. Gerald was an active member and officer of the Sertoma Club for many years and was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Bayou La Batre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Louise Tidmore and brother, Vernon Boyd Tidmore. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ethel Tidmore, children, Elaine Tidmore Mitchell and Philip Michael Tidmore, grandchildren Ashley Tidmore Willett, Gerald Philip Mitchell, Evan Thomas Mitchell, Alice Mitchell Summers, Mark Joseph Mitchell, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church of Bayou La Batre with visitation from 1:00pm-2:00pm, followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Oddfellow Cemetery.
