Gerald Odis Sprinkle's Obituary
Age 84, a native of Coden, AL and a resident of Dauphin Island, AL died Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was a member of Dauphin Island United Methodist Church, the youngest to retire from Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources with 30 years service, a charter member of the Monday night fish fry. He was an avid fisherman and shrimper, who enjoyed crabbing and oystering. Chick was club champion of Driftwood Golf Club and played many years then at Bay Oaks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvan and Irene Collier Sprinkle, sisters, Annie Mae Collier and Ernestine Wallace. He is survived by his wife, Joanne P. Horton-Sprinkle, sister, Patricia Irene Childress Westbrook (Earl), children of Joanne, Joyce Martin (Billy), R. Irving Horton (Darlene), James N. Horton (Cindy), and Steven W. Horton (Joy), nieces, Marsha Gaden and Wendy Benefield, nephews, Donis and Terry Wallace, Wade and Randy Collier, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be nephews, Donis Wallace, Randy Collier, Brandon Collier, Bubbie (Wade) Collier and Gary Wayne Gaden. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 5 pm until 7 pm. Funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3 pm. Interment in Oddfellow Cemetery.
