George Atwood Mason's Obituary
Age 72, born September 1, 1944, departed this life for eternity on Nov. 1, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born to the late George Garrett Mason and MaryBell Mason in Grove Hill, Alabama. Mr. Mason is preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, John J. Mason. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of almost 52 years, Patricia A. Mason, his son, Brian A. (Terri) Mason, daughters, Jessica L. (Hank) Lahti and Jenny L. Mason. Grandchildren Aleah Mason, Caitlin Mason Westry, Chelsea Mason, Camryn Mason, Ava Lahti, Tyler Lahti, Lenore Lahti, Kaylee Nicoll and Avery Nicoll and 6 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Mary (B.R.) Dunn, Emmogene McVay, Linda Frith and a host of other relatives and many friends.He was employed by Ciba Geigy, as a forklift operator for 10 years and Scott Paper as a heavy equipment operator for over 25 years. He was a valuable member and served as a deacon at Orchard Baptist Church. Mr. Mason was a dedicated husband, loving father and friend to all. He was a follower of Jesus and devoted his life to Christ. Funeral services will be held at Orchard Baptist Church Mobile, AL on Friday, Nov. 4th, 2016 at 10:30 am with visitation from 9:30am until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Learning Tree-Little Tree PreSchool for special needs children(1146 Azalea Rd Mobile, AL) in honor of great-grandson Aiden Mason.
