Gary Oliver Deibert's Obituary

Gary Oliver Deibert, 64, passed away on, Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Gary was born on January 23, 1950, in Coaldale, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Russell Deibert, and baby daughter, Amy Elizabeth Deibert.
His loving memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife of 29 years, Linda Peterson Deibert, and his devoted mother, Marjorie Stapleton Deibert. His loving children include: four daughters; Rebecca Deibert Stoffel of Winter Haven, Florida, Alison Jean( Daniel) of Atlanta, Bethany Deibert of St. Mary's, GA, Ellen Jordan (Matt) of Dallas, GA; and one son, Michael William Deibert of Perry; grandchildren; Lauren Plummer, Asa Plummer, Garrett Stoffel, Kennedy Wigley, Riley Jean, and Brantley Jordan.
Gary's life-long career was restoring and refurbishing local homes and historical buildings in Perry, Ft. Valley, and Macon. His proudest accomplishment was the full restoration of the Swift Street Inn of Perry. He spent many hours dedicating his time to the Perry Players Community Theater, of which he was a founding member. His many skills and talents included directing, acting, lighting, and set design.
A visitation for family and friends will be Friday, July 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Peterson Cemetery in Ailey, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, online at www.diabetes.org, or by calling 800-342-2383.
