GARY LEE JONES's Obituary
WARNER ROBINS –
Gary Lee Jones, also known as “Jonesy” to his close friends, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Gary was 39. Services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Johnny Brooks officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Georgia Wildlife Federation, 11600 Hazelbrand Road NE, Covington, GA 30014
Gary was born on June 24, 1983, in Palatka, Florida. He moved to Georgia as a child and grew up in Macon County. He attended Macon County High School where he wrestled and ran track. Gary began working for ADS at their Montezuma location and made the move to Perry with when the business moved. After twelve years with ADS, Gary decided to pursue a position in the sheet metal industry and returned to technical school. During his time at school, he worked for Liftone in Macon. Upon graduation, Gary secured a position with Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in the 559th Maintenance Squadron where he has been employed for three years.
Gary was a thoughtful, gentle man who loved spending time with family and friends. He loved being outside and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4 wheelers or just watching nature. He enjoyed bow hunting and dabbled in golf from time to time. Gary loved his family, he was a devoted father involved in all of his children’s activities. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Charles Jones; mother-in-law, Sherry Coupland; and his step-father, Carroll Timberlake.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Gary are his loving and devoted wife of twelve years, McKenzie and his beloved children, Camden and Emery; his mother, Lynn Timberlake of Palatka, FL; his brothers, Daniel Jones (Jessica) of Perry, and Bryan Jones of Palatka, FL; his mother-in-law, Delana Chafin (David) of Perry; his father-in-law, Ron Coupland of Indianapolis, IN; his father in law, Aron Chafin (Vesta) of Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
