PERRY, GA-Frederick "Fred" G. Hurst, 77, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware. Doherty Funeral Home in Wilmington, Delaware, is in charge of the service. The family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to the America Cancer Society.Mr. Hurst was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Wilheim and Helen Hess Hurst. Mr. Hurst proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. A very avid tennis player and golfer, he prided himself in tennis trophies and a hole in one trophy. He was also a Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He had resided in Perry after moving from Florida. Left to cherish the memories of Fred are his loving wife of 55 years, Veronica Hurst of Perry; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Susan Hurst of Wilmington, Delaware, and Stephen and Leah Hurst of Plattville, Colorado; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Hurst of Brookhaven, PA; and his two grandchildren, Cailin Hurst and Julia Hurst.
