Frances Rebecca Kessler Simons' Obituary
Frances Kessler Simons, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Simons was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Otto John and Bernice Mae Hatfield Kessler. She spent 52 years married to the love of her life, Burnice Joe Simons, until his passing 16 years ago. Mrs. Simons was an outgoing and courageous person. She never allowed the fact that she couldn’t see stop her from loving life to the fullest. Mrs. Simons never met a stranger and remembered the voices of every person she encountered. Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and four sisters. Left to cherish the memories of Frances are her sons, Joe Simons, Jr. (Marcia) and Danny Simons; five grandchildren, Heidi Cogburn (Curtis), Sarah Copeland (Steven), Joseph Simons, Tiffany Simons, and Daniel Simons; her special niece and caregiver, Juanita Tate; and several nieces and nephews.
