Life Legacy
PERRY-Frances M. Hartman, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Macon. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. The family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201.Mrs. Hartman was born in Blackshear, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late David E. and Louise Cooper McKinney. She received a Bachelor's Degree at LaGrange College and Master's Degree at Georgia Southwestern College. She moved to Perry in 1964 to teach at Perry High School, and met a young coach and teacher, Paul Hartman. They fell in love and have been married for one month shy of 53 years. She retired after 32 years of teaching from Perry High School in 1997. After the love of her school and her family, her life centered around her church, Perry United Methodist Church. A longtime choir member, she was in the handbell ministry and the Joy Choir. Other activities at church included leading Bible studies, teaching 3rd grade Sunday School, attending the IHS Sunday School class, and assisting with the Brian Bowen Snax Sax project. She was also a leader of the Good News Club at Kings Chapel Elementary School. Mrs. Hartman loved to fish, loved her and Paul's dogs and cats, and was an avid reader.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Hartman are her husband, Paul W. Hartman; children, Christa Hartman (Melissa Ring), of Macon, and P.J. Hartman (Jennifer) of Perry; her grandchildren, Mary Helen and Maggie Hartman of Perry; and her sister, Blanche Brumbeloe of Blackshear. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Hartman.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
