Frances Virginia Fitzsimmons' Obituary
Frances Virginia Ferguson Fitzsimmons- Age 84, of Grand Bay, AL and formerly of Birmingham, AL and Navarre, FL went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was retired from homemaking and a loving wife for 63 years to Edward L Fitzsimmons who passed away October 18th 2012. Frances Virginia Ferguson Fitzsimmons was born December 17, 1929, she was the daughter of a Minister Joseph Truman Ferguson and her mother Ada Irene Ferguson was the daughter of a Minister Edward Carlton Lee. She was born the year of the stock market crash and raised during the depression. She worked the steel mills during the war. She was part of the Greatest Generation. A few years after marriage she quit the steel mill and raised 4 children. She enjoyed people and was always upbeat no matter what. She loved God and exemplified her Christian Faith in word and deed. She was Greatly Loved and she will be Dearly Missed. She is survived by 4 children; David Fitzsimmons of Athens, AL, Sharon Sutter of Pleasant Grove, AL, John E. Fitzsimmons of Grand Bay, AL and Stevan C. Fitzsimmons of Birmingham, AL, 4 grandchildren,3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 FROM 9-12 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Home. Funeral services will be immediately after in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens where she will her join her husband in the Wall of Honor.
