PERRY-Florence Layman Crowder, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Perry Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Perry Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 574, Perry, GA 31069.Mrs. Crowder was born in Blaire, Nebraska, to the late Loran and Mabel Prosser Layman. After graduating from high school, she was a riveter towards the end of World War II, working on the B-29 Front Spar. She also volunteered at the American Red Cross and worked in various sales fields. She was a long-time member of Perry Presbyterian Church. A husband, three sisters, and two brothers predeceased her.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Scott Palmer of Perry; and 2 grandsons, Caleb Britt and Nicholas Palmer.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
