May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Although I may not have fully appreciated Mrs. Harrison while I was under her tutelage at PHS, I have thanked her repeatedly as an adult for my love of vocabulary, proper grammar, literature, and composition. Often, as I have written, I have thought "would Mrs. Harrison think this was worthy of an A?" My sympathies are with her loved ones.
The PHS Class of 1956 expresses sincere sympathy in the passing of Mrs. Harrison. We are so lucky to have had her in our lives. We always enjoyed seeing her and Mr. Harrison at our class reunions. We will never forget her.
The Hooten Family is so sorry to hear of Florence's death and extend our love and sympathy to her family. I had "Flo-Baby" at Westfield and can remember all the recitations we had to do, but I think I enjoyed them. Florence was always very prim and proper, "very together." "Ahem," she was often uttering as she taught. Also, if a student sneezed or coughed..., I can see her with that Lysol spraying the room! Ha! She may now have everyone in heaven lined up reciting scriptures of praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A beautiful lady and beloved teacher will be missed. Sincerely, Becky Hooten Millar, Marilyn Hooten and Family
Mrs. Harrison was a beautiful lady & an awesome teacher of many students in Perry and surrounding counties. I was privileged to be one of her students while at Westfield. She was a strict but fair woman who knew her job was to "teach" her students which was exactly what she did. She holds a special place in my bank of school memories of teachers that had an impact on my life. If we only had more teachers of her caliper in the schools today, we would know our children were getting the best of the best. A life well lived and a job well done.RIP Mrs, Harrison... You will be well remembered and missed by many.
So sad to hear of her passing. She will be sorely missed. Thoughts and condolences are with the family.
What an honor to be asked to sing for Miss Florence at her time of true graduation. Such a precious soul and she will forever be remembered in our hearts. Bless you with joyful memories to see you through this time. Lovingly, Miriam and Preston Phillips
