FERMAN DUDLEY HATTON, JR.'s Obituary
CENTERVILLE –
Ferman Dudley Hatton, Jr., 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Private Graveside Services will be held in Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Houston County Humane Society, 810 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, GA 31028.
Ferman was born on October 10, 1943, in Austin, Indiana. His family moved to Perry, Georgia, where he graduated from Perry High School in the early 1960’s. Ferman proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and fought in Vietnam. After his time in the military, he accepted a position with Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as a Tool and Die Maker. He retired after working over thirty years. A free-spirited thrill-seeker, Ferman enjoyed riding his Harley through the years. Later in life, you never saw him without Blue, his faithful, four-legged companion. Ferman was a jokester who enjoyed making people laugh. Most people who knew him realized how much he welcomed opportunities to help others as he helped many throughout the years.
Ferman was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie S. and Ferman Hatton, Sr.; a brother, David Hatton; his sisters, Brenda Brommel and Denice Crook; a grandson, Tyler Cusick; and his beloved dog, Blue, who was continuously by his side for over ten years.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Ferman are his daughters, Jennifer Hatton (Robert Hofer) and Melissa Hatton, both of Athens, Jessi Randel (Mick) and Ashli Butterick (Matt), both of Warner Robins, Lisa Fulford of Macon, Bobby Fulford (Katrina) of Pulaski, TN, and Brandi Rhodes of Warner Robins; six grandchildren; his brother, Donnie Hatton (Loretta) of Yulee, FL; Pam Hatton of Warner Robins; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
