Fannie Pauline Overstreet Tillman's Obituary
Fannie Pauline Overstreet Tillman, age 80, born on October 22, 1934, a life-long resident of Coden, Alabama, passed away on October 17, 2015. She was truly an angel that walked this earth almost 81 years and who now walks in Heaven with our Heavenly Father, her family and friends. She was a beautiful daughter of the late John R. and Syble Overstreet; sister to the late Raymond (Dell) Overstreet, the late Carrol (Archie L.) Collier, the late Lawrence R. (Beatrice) Overstreet, and Clyde Merle ( the late Patsy Cumbie) Overstreet; a loving wife to the late Roland D. (BoBo) Tillman; a wonderful mother to Karen Tillman Pate and Donald Wayne (Christi) Tillman; a caring grandmother to Daniel S. (Lisa) Pate, Derrick (Jennifer) Hill, Brandon W. Tillman, Sarah E. Goff, Wyatt G. Tillman and (arriving soon) Carter L. Tillman; great-grandchildren, Timothy D. Pate and Jessica N. Pate; and an awesome aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was a true friend to those who were lucky enough to have had the honor and opportunity. Her family would like to thank the many nurses and other medical personnel who cared for her over the last several years. They want to give a special thanks to Alicia Smotherman for always being there when she needed her most. She worked in the retail business , was a manager of several stores and retired from Variety Wholesalers, Inc., after 26 years of hard work and dedication. After a month of retirement, she returned to work and eventually retired 5 years later from CVS. Service will be officiated by the Rev. Gene Clark. Pallbearers: Kent Nelson, Keith Helton, Jerrod Knight, Chris King, Fredrick "Butch" Wheeler, and Wesley Wheeler.Honorary Pallbearers: Derrick Hill, Brandon Tillman, Wyatt Tillman, William Shirah, and Gary Shirah.Services will be held at Odd Fellows Hall in Irvington, Alabama on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Family visitation will be from 10am-11am. The family will welcome friends from 11am-1pm, with the service beginning at 1pm. Interment will be in Odd Fellow Cemetery.
