PERRY-Evelyn Clifford Wood, 82, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, December 18, 2016. She was afflicted with Rheumatic Fever in her early childhood and suffered after effects of this disease for most of her life. She worked through most of her adult life in day care centers as a private party baby sitter as she loved children and cared deeply for those whom she provided care. A devout Christian, she loved her Church family at Beaver Creek Primitive Baptist Church near Houston Lake and her family of seven brothers and sisters. As a young adult, Evelyn was active in the Heard Community in the Heard Home Demonstration Club along with her mother, Addie Wood. Both enjoyed doing arts and craft projects. In her spare time, Evelyn loved listening to music from her extensive tape, record, and CD libraries. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. She had significant compassion for those less fortunate than she and enjoyed several pen pals throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her father, James Daniel Wood, and mother, Addie Walton Wood, of Kathleen; two brothers, Daniel Edwin Wood and David Monroe Wood; and four sisters, Susie Myrtle Wood Marshall, Iris Ruth Wood Simmons, Eleanor Lucille Wood Bledsoe, and Bernice Lorene Wood Jones.
