EVELYN WILLIAMS RACKLEY's Obituary
Evelyn Williams Rackley, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to County Line Baptist Church, 1115 N. County Line Road, Unadilla, GA 31091.
Evelyn was born in Macon to the late Thomas and Beatrice Perdue Williams. A lifelong resident of Houston County, she moved with her family to Wellston as a young girl then grew up in Oaky Woods. She graduated from Bonaire High School then completed her education at Crandall Business College. Evelyn worked in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in Strategic Air Command as the Administrative Assistant for the Base Commander and retired after many years of service. At her age, Mrs. Evelyn had seen many changes in her life and our world, and yet remained faithful to her Lord and Savior. What a blessing she was to so many who will dearly miss her.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Mrs. Evelyn are her loving and devoted husband, Reverend Joseph Harvey Rackley; her beloved children, Janet Rackley (Jerry Huff) of Orlando, FL, and Ron Rackley (Lynn) of Alabama; her grandchildren, Claire Stripling (Jason) of Winder, Wayne Rackley of Savannah, Josh Rackley (Jessie) of Aviano, Italy, and Katherine Gray (Garrett) of Prattville, AL; two great-granddaughters, Aubrey Stripling and Edie Stripling; and her siblings, Elizabeth Coldiron, Fred Williams, Susie Ann Williams, Jean Bass, Bobby Williams, and Karen Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mrs. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers, R.A. Williams, Bo Williams, James Williams, Richard Williams, and Earl Williams; and a sister, Sara Williams Hunter.
