Emily Turner Mills' Obituary
PERRY-
Emily Turner Mills, born on March 25, 1927, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Funeral Services will be private. She will be entombed at Arlington Memorial Park in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
Emily was born in Gordo, Alabama, to the late Lonnie and Trudy Mae Ballard Turner. She lived most of her life in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta. She spent many winters enjoying the warm climate in Ft. Myers, Florida. Emily was a Red Hatter. A homemaker all of her life, she delighted in cooking for others and loved entertaining her family and friends at her home. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Left to treasure the memories of Emily are her loving husband of 70 years, David P. Mills of Perry; 3 sons, David P. Mills, Jr. (Susan) of Perry, Roger Mills of Macon, and Douglas T. Mills (Georgia) of Lawrenceville; 5 grandchildren, David L. Mills (Stacey), Andy Mills, Alex Mills, Roger Mills, Jr. (Erin), and Cynthia Mills Sculley; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to extend deepest appreciation to Visiting Angels, who have loved and cared for Mrs. Mills for over 5 years, and Heart of Georgia Hospice. In particular, they are most greatful for the genuine love and complete healthcare given by Tabitha Harrell, Leslie Wilson, and Tony Herrin who treated Mrs. Mills like their own family.
