Elizabeth "Jeanie" Newberry's Obituary
Elizabeth Eugenie “Jeanie” McGallagher Newberry, age 79, a resident of Irvington, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her home in the presence of family. Jeanie was a kind and gracious member of her community and devoted her life to helping others. She was the beloved wife of Luther Newberry Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell McGallagher and Clemmie Middleton McGallagher and her brother, Carl McGallagher. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, son, Luther R. (Pam) Newberry III, daughter, Jenny Newberry, 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, sister, Peggy (Donnie) Foutz, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2 pm with visitation starting at 12 noon until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens Wall of Honor.
