Elisha W. “Cooter” Nelson Jr., age 75, a longtime resident of Fowl River passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014. He was a Commercial Fisherman and a Veteran of the Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Elisha W. Nelson Sr., mother, Earline L. Nelson, brothers, Melvin “Mickey” Nelson and Terry W. Nelson, Hellen Glenn Nelson. He is survived by his children, Elisha W. (Patricia) Nelson III, Agnes (Gerald) Romines, Dwight Nelson, Dwayne Nelson, Mary Nelson, EW (Haley) Nelson, Traci (Troy) Whitehurst-Guttormson, Misty (Richard) Wiggins, Timothy Wiggins, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers, James “Jimmy” Nelson, Gardner “Kent” Nelson, Tommy A. Nelson, sisters, Myrtle “Mutt” Cooper, Rose Conway, Elizabeth “Betty” Gunnels, Frances “Frankie” Zirlott, Yvonne Marie Cheevers, Avon “Sissy” Lannie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 2 pm with visitation starting at 1pm until service time. Interment will be in Oddfellow Cemetery.
