Elder Van Renard Snead's Obituary
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA - Elder Van Renard Snead was born August 17, 1958 in St. Petersburg, Florida, to the late Willie Dorothy Snead and John Willie Snead.
Elder Van R. Snead was educated in the Public Schools System of Pinellas County, Florida and graduated from Northeast High School. He studied at St Petersburg Jr College then completed his studies and received his Degree at the Community College in Duval County, Jacksonville Florida.
Elder Van R Snead was ordained to preach the gospel and to assist Elder Marion Edge in 1982. Later he pastored several churches namely: Greater Bethel PBC, Ft Myers, Fairfield PBC, Ocala, Mt. Moriah PBC, St. Petersburg, Mt. Nebo PBC, Jacksonville, Mt. Beaula PBC, Warner Robins Georgia, and Gulfield PBC, Macon Georgia. All of which are in the Antioch Association of Primitive Baptist. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah PBC for over 40 years. Elder Snead became Moderator in October 2013 of the Antioch Association of Primitive Baptists until his death.
In 1990 he married his beloved wife Doris White who preceded him in death. To this union he was blessed with Six Step-children.
On Friday, June 7, 2019 he went to his home in Zion. He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Lois Snead, Schuylkill, PA, Essie Gilbert, Corneatha Chance (Roy). One Brother Charles Gilbert all of St. Petersburg, Florida. One Aunt, Glenda Bright, St. Petersburg, Florida. A devoted Cousin, Velma Ross, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
